Five Questions For Oliver Stark
He stars in the thriller "MindGamers," a film which follows a group of young scientists who create a wireless neural network, linking multiple minds via a quantum computer. An actor who has made guest appearances on iconic British shows "Luther" alongside Idris Elba, and the medical drama "Casualty," Oliver Stark is best known for his role in AMC's martial arts based drama "Into the Badlands." He talks to Samantha Ofole-Prince about his latest mind-binding thriller.
What is MindGamers about?
It's a film about five friends who invent something that basically allows them to transfers motor skills to one another and that throws up a lot of moral questions.
What sort of research did you do to play the role of Dylan?
We were initially sent a lot of quantum theory information. That was a foundation for all the characters. Each character has a different area of expertise. They all have slightly different agendas and everybody is out for themselves. Dylan is driven by the way we discover emotions, so I looked more into that that quantum physics.
Did you talk to scientists while prepping for the role?
No. Once we started seeing the costumes and getting into the shoes of character, it all started to fit a lot easier.
What do you think people will take away from this movie?
It asks questions of the audience and makes them question their own values. What you would do in certain situations and how you feel about this sharing of information. It is exciting to be part of something that has never been done before.
If you could share the mind and skills of a famous person, living or dead, who would it be?
I would like the patience of Nelson Mandela, the intelligence of Einstein and a musical gift.
